Pastor Richard Schork

School President

Pastor Richard is the founding and senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Monrovia. Richard desires to teach the Bible’s message of God’s great love and truth expressed in Jesus Christ. He desires to lead and encourage others in their relationship with Jesus and to equip their lives for the good purpose and plan God has for each one.
Richard grew up in the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California and came to know Christ as a teenager in High School. After graduating college, he went into his family’s business where he worked with his father, and two brothers for over twenty years; putting to good use his B.A. in business.
During his business career the Lord began to draw Pastor Richard’s heart towards ministry. In response to the Lord’s calling and while working and raising his family, he attended the Bible Ministry School at Calvary Chapel La Mirada and after graduating he would go on to become the Worship Pastor and one of the teachers at the Bible Ministry School.
Richard Met his wife Toni in Junior High Choir and they were married in 1983. They have four grown children: Jenni, Jessica, Tyler, and Scott.
Richard has found Acts 2:42 is the verse God has given him for both the leading of his Church and the starting of the Bible Ministry School:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
